Velkommen til omvisning og kunstnermøte i filminstallasjonen Nærme med kunstneren Eli Mai Huang Nesse. For de av dere som besøkte Elis atelier tidligere i høst, blir dette et gjensyn med kunstneren i tillegg til at dere får se resultatet av arbeidet hun snakket om den gangen.

Etter omvisningen inviterer vi til workshopen Spirit in the Machine med billedkunstnerne Johan Andrén og Robert Carter, der vi utforsker tilfeldigheter og magi ved hjelp av en spritduplikator fra 50-årene, en type kopieringsapparat og forløperen til vår tids kopimaskin. Vi lar oss inspirere av poetiske bilder fra gamle bøker og trykksaker og lager kort og fanziner som vi kan gi bort til jul.

Omvisningen foregår på norsk, mens workshopen holdes på engelsk. Filmen er på norsk og har engelske undertekster.

Welcome to a guided tour and artist meeting in the film installation Nærme with artist Eli Mai Huang Nesse. For those of you who visited Eli’s studio earlier this fall, this will be a reunion with the artist in addition to seeing the result of the work she talked about at the time.

After the tour, we invite you to the workshop Spirit in the Machine with visual artists Johan Andrén and Robert Carter, where we explore coincidences and magic with the help of a spirit duplicator from the 50s, a type of copying device and the precursor to our modern-day photocopier. We are inspired by poetic images from old books and printed matter and create cards and fanzines that we can give away for Christmas.

The tour is in Norwegian, while the workshop is in English. The film is in Norwegian and has English subtitles.
